6 things we learnt from our chat with Louisa Johnson
Louisa Johnson has revealed that she is “so grateful” to have made The X Factor quarter finals, stating that despite getting praise each week, she STILL wants to get better!
We caught up with the Essex girl to find out more of what we can expect from her in the competition and here’s what we found out…
1. She’s SO happy she's singing Bieber
After the public took to Twitter to pick Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself for her to perform on Saturday, the 17-year old said: “I am so happy I got this song, it’s a male song which always makes things more interesting but I can take it places. I don’t feel pressure much, I think the public believe in me enough to trust that I can hopefully do it justice! I’m happy I’m singing something current - I love Bieber’s new album.” We’re Beliebers too, Louisa!
2. Prepare to be Jealous of her vocals this Saturday!
As well as JB’s Love Yourself, Louisa revealed that Rita has also selected Labrinth’s Jealous for her to sing, with the star noting: “I think two songs is better, I get to show two different sides. I’m so happy with this song. I feel like it’s very vulnerable, which is a side I haven’t shown yet.” We are SO excited to see Louisa in action...
3. Rita is like her big sister
Speaking of what it’s like to have Rita as a mentor, Louisa confessed: “Rita is absolutely amazing, she’s like a sister. I feel like I can go to her for anything and she is so supportive.” When asked what’s the best advice Ora has passed on, Johnson added: “Just be you. It’s so simple, yet it covers everything.” Wise words indeed, Rita…
4. And, she wants to perform with her mentor!
If Louisa had the chance to duet with Rita, the star revealed that she’d want to sing one of her mentor’s own tracks, claiming: “I’d probably choose her song Poison. I love the vocal in that song, I think it would be sick.” Come on Rita, make it happen!
5. She doesn’t let the praise go to her head
Despite receiving positive comments from the Judges each week and being a firm favourite with fans, Louisa was keen to state that she’s “so thankful” for the support. However, she was keen to add: “I’m happy people think of me like that but I don’t really focus on it if I’m honest. I just want to get better and better each week.”
6. She’s still loving her first audition
While Louisa may have made it through to the Final 5, her favourite performance is still her first audition, where she blew the Judges away with her version of Michael Jackson’s Who’s Loving You. She stated: “I think my first audition is still my fave moment. The feeling was just incredible.”
