Back in 2015, 18-year old Kiera Weathers faced Judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl and Nick Grimshaw with her version of Ella Eyre’s We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off. Having just lost her mum, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as Kiera went on to bag three yeses from the panel and managed to get all the way to the Live Shows!
Who could forget Chris Maloney’s Audition in 2012?! Shaking like a leaf, Chris kept his nerves at bay to belt out Bette Midler’s The Rose, impressing Judges Louis Walsh, Tulisa, Geri, Gary Barlow and of course, his No.1 fan - his nan! He went on to progress all the way to the Live Shows, eventually finishing third behind Jahméne Douglas and eventual winner, James Arthur.
The year was 2011 and it was hairdresser Marcus Collins’ time to shine by performing Stevie Wonder’s Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours for Judges Louis Walsh, Tulisa, Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow. Marcus managed to get all the way to the Final at Wembley Arena, where he was beaten to the title by Little Mix.
Smooth swing singer Ray Quinn auditioned for The X Factor in Liverpool back in 2006, where he treated Louis, Sharon Osbourne and Simon to a rendition of Dean Martin’s Ain’t That A Kick In The Head. Ray went on to reach the Final, where he came second to champion Leona Lewis.
In 2010, it was Rebecca Ferguson’s dream to be a singer, with the mother-of-two battling her nerves to perform Sam Cooke’s A Change Is Gonna Come for Judges Louis, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon. Rebecca managed to beat the likes of Cher Lloyd and One Direction to come second in the Final, with Matt Cardle named as the series winner.
