By logging into the BGT app via Facebook or Twitter you give permission for your profile picture, name and score to appear in the play-along area of the app when used be other users.
The BGT app also displays the profile pictures and partial names of:· If you have logged in with Facebook: some of your Facebook friends who are also logged into the app· If you logged in with Twitter: some of the people who you follow on Twitter who are also logged into the app·
If you have not logged in: a selection of random Facebook and/or twitter users. If you do log in but none of your Facebook friends or none of the people you follow on Twitter (as applicable) are logged into the app, you will instead see a selection of random users in the play-along-tab as BGT silhouettes.
While the app is suitable for all audiences, parental guidance is advised. 1. What happens in the play area during the show?
During each show you can have your say on each act and react to big moments via the following methods:
Buzzer - Buzz for fun or buzz when you’ve had enough of the acts on screen.
Quick poll – Multiple choice polls during each episode.
Trivia – Test your Britain’s knowledge against the clock. Points are awarded for a correct answer within the time limit.
Predictor – Decide if you think an act will or won’t make it through to the next round. Points are awarded for correct predictions.
Decision time Have your say on whether or not you would put a particular act through.
2. How do I log into the app?
You can log into the app via Facebook or Twitter. The social media site you most recently logged in with will be used to display your avatar.
3. How do I earn points?
You can earn points by predicting correctly whether or not a performer or band will get through to the next stage of the contest. You can also gain points by correctly answering trivia questions.
4. What has happened to the Play area of the app during the week?
During the week the Play area of the app promotes fun quizzes about the show and games from our app sponsor Morrisons.
5. The app doesn’t work?
Please check which operating system your device is running.
The BGT app runs on iOS 7 and 8. Please upgrade your operating software if you are using iOS 6 or below.
The BGT app runs on versions 4.1 and above. Please update your operating software if you using an earlier version.
6. What are the vouchers I can see in the app?
These may be special offers from a selected group of commercial partners. These offers will sit in the wallet section of the app (accessible by tapping the bell icon in the Play tab) for you to redeem until they expire. Your details will not be passed on to these suppliers, unless you choose to redeem an offer by visiting the supplier website.
7. One of my vouchers has disappeared from the app. Where is it?
All voucher offers that appear in the app have an expiry date. When the voucher has expired it no longer appears in the app.
8. I had voting credits left over from last series? Now that app voting is free, what happens to my credits?
Provided you have updated the app (and not deleted it from your device or changed your device) then your voting credits will be saved by us and you will be entitled to a refund or have the option to donate to charity. Check back on the app in later in the series for more details.
9. What if I have deleted the app or changed my device?
As set out in the 2013 voting terms & conditions, unused votes will be lost if the app is deleted from the user’s device, or if the user’s device is lost or stolen. This means that if you have deleted the app or changed your device we can't refund or offer a donation to charity for any unused vote credits.
10. I purchased buzzers on the BGT app in 2013 and now they have gone. Can I get them back?
We will be releasing brand new buzzers throughout the series for free. If you purchased buzzers in 2013 you can obtain a refund by providing proof of purchase. An example of this could be taking a screenshot of your itunes purchase history.
