Times tumble in second practice

A drying track led to faster lap times in the final free practice session before the cars head out for qualifying this afternoon.

Colin Turkington was fastest, as all 27 cars headed out on track for the first time together.

The BMR driver set a fastest time of 48.940, just six hundredths of a second ahead of BMW's Andy Priaulx.

Aron Smith was third fastest, with Jason Plato fourth and Sam Tordoff, who had led much of the session, in fifth.

Shedden signs new Honda contract

2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Champion Gordon Shedden has signed a new contract to stay at Team Dynamics for a further three years.

It means the Scottish driver will be with the squad, and in the BTCC, until at least the end of 2017.

Team Dynamics, owned by Matt Neal and his father Steve, is currently running the Honda Racing Civics, though it's not yet known what model they will run in 2015.

Honda is launching a new Type-R Civic later this year.

Shedden will push hard at Silverstone

2012 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car champion Shedden arrives at Silverstone sitting third in the drivers’ standings, 64 points adrift of the top of the table following a difficult weekend at Rockingham a fortnight ago.

But he insists he will be pushing hard to take the chase for the coveted crown right the way down to the wire in the Brands Hatch finale.
