Butcher and Tordoff to race AmD Honda Civics

The Cobra Sport AmD with AutoAid/RCIB Insurance Racing team will go into its tenth season in the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship fully focused on challenging for top honours after confirming its driver line-up for the 2019 campaign.

The West Thurrock-based team will field a pair of race-winning Honda Civic Type Rs in the UK’s leading series next year and will head into the new season in better shape than ever before after concluding deals with two of the leading drivers on the grid.

Tordoff to step away from BTCC

Sam Tordoff has announced that he will not be racing in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship next season.

Tordoff has spent the last four seasons in the BTCC, after winning the Renault Clio Cup, racing first for MG and most recently two seasons in the JCT600 BMW.

Tordoff shows his class with race 2 win at Rockingham

Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship points leader Sam Tordoff has taken victory in the second race of the day at Rockingham, having started tenth on the grid.

He scythed his way through the field in the early laps to take the lead before the halfway point of the 16-lap race, then pulled away, crossing the line with a 2.8 second lead.

Times tumble in second practice

A drying track led to faster lap times in the final free practice session before the cars head out for qualifying this afternoon.

Colin Turkington was fastest, as all 27 cars headed out on track for the first time together.

The BMR driver set a fastest time of 48.940, just six hundredths of a second ahead of BMW's Andy Priaulx.

Aron Smith was third fastest, with Jason Plato fourth and Sam Tordoff, who had led much of the session, in fifth.
