BTCC veteran Plato returns in bid for century

Jason Plato will return to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship this season, attempting to be the first driver in history to win 100 races.

Plato, who made his debut in 1997, currently has 96 victories to his name, just four short of his Century. The 50 year old also has two drivers' championship titles to his name, the most recent in 2010.

Alain's on the Menu for Brands finale

Former double BTCC champion Alain Menu will return to the series this weekend after it was confirmed by Team BMR RCIB Insurance that he will replace the injured Warren Scott.

Scott suffered two fractured vertebrae as a consequence of his high-speed accident during free practice at Silverstone last month, which forced him out of the event.

The Team BMR boss has since been to see the highly acclaimed sports injury specialist, Brian Simpson, in a bid to make a return for the Brands Hatch finale. After receiving laser treatment Scott visited a consultant at the John Radcliffe Hospital on Friday, where it was unfortunately decided that he must remain in a back brace for a further six weeks.

Team BMR expands to Clio Cup

Race winning Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship squad Team BMR Restart Racing has this afternoon announced advanced plans to field a four-car squad in next year’s Courier Connections Renault UK Clio Cup.
