The 2020 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship calendar was announced live on ITV4 earlier this morning, as BTCC Chief Executive Alan Gow confirmed a shake-up ahead of next season.
Donington Park will host the opening event of the series for the first time in 15 years, whilst Brands Hatch is next on the calendar as well as maintaining its traditional finals slot on the legendary Grand Prix circuit.
Andrew Jordan claimed pole position in one of the most disjointed qualifying sessions in the history of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship at Croft.
A fifth red flag stoppage eventually ended the session prematurely and it was an off for Jordan that ironically brought a close to proceedings. The new-for-2019 qualifying rule states that a driver causing a red flag in qualifying will lose their fastest lap time up to that point and take no further part in the session, which could have put paid to a first pole position since 2014 for Jordan.
BTC Racing’s Josh Cook earned his second Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship victory of the season after producing a commanding display in the Thruxton finale.
Make sure you tune in at 11:15am, Sunday 19th May on ITV4 to see all the action from Thruxton.
Team Toyota GB with Ginsters’ Tom Ingram took an emotional first win in the all-new Toyota Corolla with a lights-to-flag in the final BTCC race at Donington Park, as more than 4,500 Toyota members and family watched on.
Reigning Kwik Fit British Touring Car Champion Colin Turkington claimed pole position at Donington Park today (27 April) in a rain interrupted qualifying session at the famous East Midlands circuit.
