Statement from ITV Sport
ITV Sport will join the boycott of social media platforms this weekend in support of the protest by English football and the wider sport arena against online racial discrimination and abuse.
All ITV Sport, including Football, digital channels will be suspended from Friday April 30 until 11.59pm on Monday May 3 in line with the boycott period, with no posts being made during that time.
ITV Sport is lending support to this boycott in solidarity with the sportsmen and women as well as others connected to sport who have been and continue to be subjected to online racial abuse. We join the many representative bodies and the wider sport family in this country in calls for social media companies to take further decisive and effective action to prevent abuse from appearing on platforms.
