These are the shows we never want to make.
But if we don’t do something to combat climate change, that’s the reality we’re facing. ITV has committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2030. See below what action ITV is taking
ITV Daytime keep waste to a minimum, to help with our target for Zero Waste by 2030. On This Morning, leftover ingredients and cooked food are donated to City Harvest. Our Daytime wardrobe department donates clothes to Smartworks, a women’s employment charity.
ITV continuing dramas Coronation Street and Emmerdale continually look at ways to lower carbon emissions and waste to help us reach Net Zero by 2030. Low energy lighting, electric-hybrid vehicles for filming and paper-free sets are just some of the initiatives on the go.
All shows produced or commissioned by ITV, including the next series of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, now have to go through BAFTA's carbon calculation process to help review ways to lower their environmental impact.
