Sloane Stephens to face Simona Halep in French Open final after straight sets win over Madison Keys
10th seed Sloane Stephens beat her fellow American and great friend Madison Keys in straight sets to reach the final of the French Open.
The semi-final was a repeat of last year's US Open final which was won comprehensively by Stephens for her first grand slam crown.
This was a less clear-cut victory but an early break of serve in each set put Stephens in control.
Keys slipped two breaks down in the second and although she pulled one back Stephens served out for the match.
They were the first sets Keys had dropped all tournament as 25-year-old Stephens wrapped up a 6-4 6-4 win in an hour and 17 minutes.
