1 Million Minutes: Thank you for pledging your time to help end loneliness
This year's 1 Million Minutes campaign has raised an amazing total of 117,172,140 minutes. Thank you ALL for pledging your time.
This year, Good Morning Britain looked at loneliness especially the acute isolation the cost of living crisis is currently causing millions of people throughout the country.
Over the last seven years, the British public’s generosity has seen more than half a billion minutes donated to charities looking for volunteers to help those who feel lonely.
As well as supporting ITV’s Britain Get Talking campaign, we teamed up with charities who are all doing incredible work including Alzheimer's Society, Alzheimer's Research UK, Grief Encounter, Re-engage, Royal Voluntary Service, Sands, Home-Start and the Chatty Cafe Scheme.
[Please do not contact Samaritans to volunteer your time for the 1 Million Minutes campaign]. If you are struggling to cope and need emotional support, Samaritans volunteers are available around the clock, every single day of the year. Call 116123, or visit www.samaritans.org for support.
