‘Clinically vulnerable’ urged to self-isolate for 12 weeks

More than a million people in England who are considered to be 'clinically vulnerable' are being asked to self-isolate for 12 weeks.

Boris Johnson and Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick announced at the daily coronavirus press conference that the NHS has identified around 1.5m people who will be asked to self-isolate for three months.

The new measure is an attempt to 'shield' these vulnerable people from the Covid-19 disease in order to save thousands of lives.

Those who fall into this category will be contacted via a letter that will go out this week.

Jenrick said those with specific cancers, transplants and with other underlying health conditions will be contacted this week.
