KFC has run out of chicken - and people aren't happy

KFC has closed 750 of its 900 UK outlets after delivery problems and a new distribution system left them with a chicken shortage.

The fast-food chain switched its delivery partner to DHL, who has blamed “operational issues” for the disruption.

In a statement, KFC apologised and are unsure when the delivery problems will be rectified, but assured the fried chicken lovers that they’re working “flat out” to get back up and running.

The chain added that its staff are being encouraged to take holiday, but won’t be forced to do so. But with 80% of the KFC outlets running on a franchise basis, the “franchisees will be seeking their own independent advice”.

Customers across the country took to social media to voice their concerns.
