Parents battle to get baby Charlie US treatment
We could not sit there and watch our son suffer in pain
Connie Yates joined us this morning to tell us why she wants her 10-month-old son Charlie Gard, who suffers from a rare genetic condition, to undergo a therapy trial in the US.
Connie is currently going through a court battle for Charlie, who remains on life-support treatment to give the judges in the European Court time to analyse the case.
However, specialists at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, where Charlie is being cared for, say therapy proposed by a doctor in the US is experimental and will not help.
