The former head of the Bank of England has slammed the Government’s Brexit plans as ‘incompetent’.
Lord Mervyn King said it beggars belief that the world’s sixth largest economy is talking of stockpiling food and medicines.
In his scathing criticism, the pro-Brexit ex Governor said he finds it ‘deeply depressing’ when he sees the debates between the leavers and the remainers.
“Both sides seem to be throwing insults at each other, and I find that deeply depressing… it tells us everything about the incompetence of the preparation for it. It beggars belief that the sixth-biggest economy in the world should get itself into that position.”
