‘Good Morning Britain, rather a good evening from Hollywood’, those were the words from Piers Morgan kicking-off a three-hour Good Morning Britain Oscars special live from Los Angeles, with co-host Susanna Reid.

Joker actor Joaquin Phoenix declares dairy is no joke during Oscars speech

The 92nd Academy Awards was not short of politically motivated speeches, Joaquin Phoenix launched a passionate speech as he picked up the award for Best Actor.

Continuing the award-season trend of highlighting socio-political issues in acceptance speeches, Phoenix slammed the dairy industry for artificially inseminating cows to produce milk for coffee and cereal.

Parasite makes history with Oscar for Best Picture

South Korean satire Parasite, directed by Bong Joon-ho, has become the first foreign-language film to win the Academy Award for Best Picture.

The film also won Best Director, Best International Film and Best Original Screenplay.

Joaquin Phoenix, Renée Zellweger, Brad Pitt and Laura Dern took home the acting trophies.

Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid are heading to Los Angeles for a Good Morning Britain Oscars special!

Oscars 2020: The best of British nominees

It’s the biggest event in the showbiz calendar, the Oscars 2020 is just around the corner.

The 92nd Academy Awards nominees have been revealed and our very own Piers and Susanna are heading to Los Angeles for a Good Morning Britain Oscars special.

Todd Phillips’ Joker leads the Oscar film nominations with 11 nods, followed by 1917, The Irishman, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with 10 nominations.

Oscar winner Gary Oldman: This is what my mum dreamed about

Gary Oldman has told Good Morning Britain winning an Oscar is what his mother always "dreamed about" after he was named Best Actor at the ceremony.

Oldman, who won the Oscar for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, said he had yet to speak to his 98-year-old mother after coming away with the top prize, but that he would "see her in the morning and we'll sit and have a cup of tea".
