Speaker cradles baby during Parliament debate in New Zealand

New Zealand's parliamentary speaker was praised on social media for taking care of his colleague's baby while presiding over the debate.

Trevor Mallard tweeted a photo of himself feeding MP Tamati Coffey's newborn son while in the speaker's seat on Wednesday.

He captioned the picture: "Normally the Speaker's chair is only used by Presiding Officers but today a VIP took the chair with me. Congratulations @tamaticoffey and Tim on the newest member of your family."

Keanu Reeves has signed up to star in a reboot of The Matrix.

The 54-year-old actor will reprise his role as Neo when the iconic film returns for a fourth chapter.

Fans who are worried about whether the films will live up to its former glory might also be happy to know that Lana Wachowski, who created the franchise with her sister Lilly, will also return as director, along with the original cast member Carrie-Ann Moss.

“Many of the ideas Lilly and I explored 20 years ago about our reality are even more relevant now,” Wachowski said in a statement. “I’m very happy to have these characters back in my life and grateful for another chance to work with my brilliant friends.”

The singer revealed that he had provided them with a private flight to his home in France and had paid to carbon offset the trip.

In a series of five emotional treats, the singer reminded people that he was close to Harry’s mother Diana and also said that ‘unnecessary press intrusion contributed to Diana’s untimely death’.
