Coronation Street legend, Andy Whyment (aka Kirk Sutherland) will be throwing himself into Camp life as he enters the Jungle as a late entry. But is he ready to make himself at home?
Andy tells us: “I have always been a massive fan of the show and when they asked me to do it, I said ‘yes’ immediately. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and it’s crazy to think I am now actually going! I am so excited.”
Andy has no doubt that the Coronation Street cast will try to play a role in his Jungle journey from the cobbles. He said: “I know some of my Corrie colleagues and especially Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, will vote for me to do the Trials. I know he will be telling everyone to vote for me on Twitter!”
Aside from his fears about being separated from his family for so long, Andy is hoping to bring plenty of humour to the Camp. “We’re all going to be outside our comfort zones but I hope I can entertain everyone. I am not sure what I will be like on lack of food and sleep though as I love them both!”
Andy says being crowned King of the Jungle would be ‘a dream come true’. He says to know that people have voted for him as Andy rather than Kirk would be a ‘fantastic achievement.’
