Scarlett Moffatt, Joel Dommett and Joe Swash are heading to Oz once again to host ITV2’s Extra Camp, so we grilled them on their favourite Jungle moments, and the highs and lows of life Down Under.
What’s your favourite ever I’m A Celeb moment?
Scarlett: I’ve watched it from the beginning so it’s hard to pick, but the moment I fell in love with I’m a Celeb was when Rhona Cameron did that speech about how we’re all different, but we’ve just got to get on with it.
Joel: The thing I remember most clearly is Strawberry Gate from last year, because it just lasted so long! That one moment changed everything. It was like the Brexit of the jungle. It was so divisive.
S: I also think Helen Flanagan was really underrated when she was in there.
Joe: Yeah, she was the first person who just turned round and said “Nope, I’m not doing it.”
What are your most memorable moments from last year’s Extra Camp?
S: I loved it when Stanley Johnson decided to show us how to land on a lilo and just face-planted the floor.
Joel: This 80 year old man just jumped on the floor and we were all stood there in shock hoping he hadn’t hurt himself.
Joe: He was fine. He nailed it.
What have you learnt from hosting Extra Camp?
Joe: What I’ve learnt is that bugs love to come out in the morning. As soon as we arrive on set and turn the lights on, it’s like *whoosh* every bug in the Jungle appears out of nowhere. It’s like bugs, bats, everything. We have to duck out of their way.
S: I’ve learnt that it takes a long time for the smell of smoke to get out of your clothes. When we’re presenting, the smoke from Camp comes up and clings to us. When I went home, all my mates thought I’d taken up smoking, but it was just the Campfire smoke stuck in my hair.
Who has been your favourite Extra Camp guest?
Joel: Arg and Jamie were great fun last year.
Joe: We had Janice Dickinson one year, she was just bonkers. Keith Lemon used to come out in the early days, I loved having him there. We’ve had some great ones. Andi Peters is a regular, he’s come back maybe five or six times. He’s just always there! It might as well be a foursome.
S: I like Andi because he’s not afraid to have an opinion, even if it goes against everyone else’s. If he doesn’t like a Campmate, he’ll say it.
If you could go into the Jungle again as a Campmate, how would you want to enter?
Joe: I think they should all enter the Jungle via the Celebrity Cyclone. Smash, bang wallop… Straight into Camp.
Joel: That’s too much fun though, there would be nothing left to look forward to. It’d be like having Christmas in June.
I was really annoyed that I didn’t get the helicopter skydive. I really wanted it, but I got the plank instead which was waaay worse.
S: Excuse me, I was canoeing for eighty minutes!
S: I think I’d wanna go in on a unicorn or something. Something dead majestic and extra. And don’t start saying they’re not real, Joe.
Joe: I’ve never said they’re not real, they’re just tricky to find.
Scarlett, Joel and Joe will be joined by a whole host of Celeb panelists (including Andi Peters) every night on ITV2, straight after the main show. Tune in for unseen extras, exclusive behind-the-scenes sneak peeks, and all the juiciest gossip from down in Camp.
