Episode 9 preview: Bread & baking

This week it’s all about baking in John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen - starting with everyone’s favourite staple - bread. Lisa will be making an easy soda bread served with creamy mushrooms followed by ham and cheese soldiers that everyone in the family will love. There’s also a stuffed naan and coconut and banana loaf that’s perfect for breakfast.

Later, The Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite will be joining the couple and giving them a masterclass in cupcakes, crumble cake and mirror glazing.

Episode 8 preview: Party food

It’s party time in John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen this week, with a menu that’s a real crowd pleaser.

There’s homemade hummus with lamb and roti, Lisa’s Mum’s coronation chicken - served three ways, zesty salad rolls and beautiful cherry and almond tartlets. Later John and Lisa are joined by BOSH! - the cooking duo who’ve been causing a sensation with their plant based recipes.

They’ll be making vegan wild west wings and their take on a baked camembert.

Episode 7 preview: In a rush

John and Lisa are in their Weekend Kitchen with a host of recipes all perfect for when time is of the essence.

Lisa makes John his favourite comfort food - her gorgeous sausage and sourdough bake and John has spaghetti carbonara that his children request time and time again! There's a root vegetable and feta tray bake, that's as simple as it is delicious, and a wonderful strawberry and almond pudding for afters.

Joining John and Lisa are their friends (and Masterchef winners) Dhruv Baker and Shelina Permalloo - they will be making some of their own favourite dishes - including chilli and lime chicken and a beautiful Mauritian curry.

Episode 6 preview: Barbecue week

It's barbecue week in John and Lisa's Weekend Kitchen - with a menu perfect for indoor or outdoor grilling.

John gives a masterclass in cooking the perfect steak, whilst Lisa gives her take on some classic accompaniments - with potato salad and slaw. Also on the menu are beautiful paneer skewers and grilled tomatoes, sure to please any guest.

Later, the brilliant Levi Roots will be joining John and Lisa to make them his delicious chicken burgers and toffee bananas. Plus, Lisa treats Levi to his favourite dessert - a simply wonderful apple crumble.

Episode 5 preview: Family favourites

This week, John Torode and Lisa Faulkner are in their weekend kitchen to show you some of their all time family favourites.

Lisa remembers her mum's easy and delicious version of chicken nuggets and John makes a Spanish omelette with a very clever shortcut.

There's Lisa's cottage pie with a unique take on a potato topping and John has a buttermilk chocolate cake that is sure to please everyone. John and Lisa will also be joined by not one, but two legendary Phil Vickery's!

Former England Rugby Captain, Phil Vickery, is as passionate in the kitchen as he is on the pitch. He's making a gorgeous lamb and couscous dish. And chef Phil Vickery is cooking up one of his family favourites - his mum's amazing custard tart.

Episode 4 preview: American recipes

This week, John Torode and Lisa Faulkner are taking their inspiration from across the pond with an American themed menu.

John has some gorgeous marinated ribs and wings - which work perfectly with Lisa's homemade cornbread. There's an easy one pan 'Cowboy Breakfast' and Lisa makes a delicious Cherry Cream Pie. Joining them in the kitchen is chef Clodagh McKenna - who is no stranger to an American audience.

She's making a super simple 'Montauk Clam Bake' guaranteed to impress. And the trio will be enjoying cocktail hour as Clodagh shakes up her favourite tipple.

Episode 3 preview: Fakeaway

Why have a takeaway when you can make a fakeaway?

John Torode and Lisa Faulkner serve up some delicious alternatives to classic takeaway dishes, including a fragrant Thai green curry, quick and easy onion bhajis with homemade green chutney, and an easy peasy pizza that is guaranteed to impress.

The pair are joined by queen of Chinese cooking Ching-He Huang, who gives John and Lisa a wok masterclass and cooks up some of her speciality Chinese recipes, including a sweet sundae pudding.

Episode 2 preview: Picnic Week

John Torode and Lisa Faulkner welcome you back to their weekend kitchen with more of their delicious, homemade recipes that will inspire cooks everywhere - whether you’re confident in the kitchen or a beginner.

And with summer here, picnic food is on the menu, from mouthwatering sausage rolls to a veggie option - spinach and ricotta rolls, plus a seasonal dish of strawberries, and cream served with homemade honeycomb.

Joining John and Lisa in their kitchen this weekend, is special guest, actor and Celebrity Masterchef winner John Partridge, who shares his own food story, cooking up a cheese and onion pie that brings him back to his youth.
