Sloppy Joe pizza
This all-American classic will be a hit with the whole family. After all, who can deny the enticing lure of Sloppy Joes?
Makes: Two pizzas
Ingredients
1 onion
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tin of tomatoes
1tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper
200grs grated cheese
Block of pizza cheese
250g natural yogurt
250g self raising flour
1tsp baking powder
Pinch of salt
Method
Preheat the oven to 250c or as high as it will go. Put your pizza trays into the oven to preheat.
Grate your onion into a pan set over a low heat with a splash of olive oil. Add the thyme and cook gently.
Season and add the tinned tomatoes, adding the water used to clean out the tin and cook for a further 5 minutes. Set aside once cooked.
Add the bolognese sauce to a saucepan to reheat gently. Set aside once hot.
Combine ingredients for the pizza dough in a bowl and bring together to form a ball.
Knead a little on a floured surface until the surface of the dough is smooth.
Divide into 3 balls, pat down and roll out 2 of them to form teardrop shapes. Put the bases onto the hot trays and into the oven for 1-2 minutes to partially cook.
While they cook, roll the third ball out into a long rectangle. Cut the pizza cheese into batons and lay on top. Fold the dough over the top of the cheese and seal. Sprinkle with a little flour.
Remove the pizza bases from the oven, flip and top with the tomato sauce. Spoon a good amount of the mince on the pizza base and sprinkle with cheese.
Put the pizzas and the stuffed crust in the oven at 250c for 6-7 mins.
