Brenda finds out what happens when you ask for help if you're experiencing domestic abuse

Since the pandemic hit and the country was placed in lockdown, cases of domestic violence have surged.

In September last year, Brenda bravely opened up about her own experience, prompted by the Chantelle and Gray EastEnders abuse storyline. But Brenda had no idea the Metropolitan Police would be watching and would get in touch to shine a light on how survivors of domestic abuse - like her - can get practical help.

Brenda decided to investigate exactly what happens when you report domestic abuse to the police in the hope of offering real hope to other survivors. Watch the video above to find out how to report domestic abuse and learn about what happens next.

If you've been affected by any of the issues raised please use the below helplines.
