Leslie Ash talks about MRSA struggle
Leslie Ash was the guest on Loose Women today.
She was discussing her struggle to regain her health after contracting the MRSA superbug in hospital in 2004.
After walking without a cane for the first time on TV since becoming ill, Leslie said of her illness, "At first there's a fear, unfortunately you have to learn how to walk again. You lose all your muscle tone in one week. You literally have to start all over again. They gave my anti-depressants as pain relief but it turned me into a vegetable, so for 10 years I sat on a sofa. I've got my spark back now."
Leslie was also discussing her work with the charity Farms Not Factories which tries to inspire people to only buy meat from local, healthy, high welfare farms.
