Miriam Margolyes lets loose on sex, love and loneliness: 'We've all got to have a bit of a friction, haven't we?'

Miriam Margolyes joined the Loose Women to share her thoughts on life, love and lockdown, which she told the panel she absolutely hates.

"Oh it's awful," she said. "It's absolutely ghastly! I hate it. I'm not going to be brave about it, I think it's an absolute... well, I've got to be careful of my language on your programme, but it's not to my taste."

Speaking from her home, Miriam explained how she's endured the period alone while her partner of 52 years, Heather, is based in The Netherlands.

"The reason we’re still together is because we don’t live together, everybody can see that," she teased, adding that she hadn't worried about coming out all that time ago because she never thought there was anything wrong with loving someone of the same gender - or going to bed with them.

"We've all got to have a bit of a friction, haven't we?" she said.
