Peter Andre says wife Emily is his NHS hero and gets homeschooling feedback from his kids
Peter Andre told the Loose Women that his wife, doctor Emily MacDonagh, is his NHS hero as he joined the panel to talk about life in lockdown.
He paid tribute to Emily, who is working on the frontlines while he takes care of their children, Theo and Amelia, at home.
"Every time I say to her, 'What's it like?' - and this is why I respect her so much - all she ever talks about is people doing more," he said. "She’s a good person - she doesn’t say a lot about what’s going on but I know she’s heavily exposed to what’s going on."
Peter explained how Emily has to be extremely careful when she comes home from work and goes through an intricate routine before she can settle back into family life.
"She’ll come home, I don’t tell the kids she’s home. She comes in, she takes off all of her clothes - it sounds great, but what happens is she has to put them in the washing machine, wrap a towel round her, have a shower, completely disinfect herself," he explained.
"She leaves here at 7.15am and she’s back at 7pm at night. It’s not every day but the days she’s there, it’s pretty full on."
Peter also spoke about his experience of homeschooling and admitted that he wasn't quite as good at it as he thought he'd be.
"I've realised I'm not a school teacher. My respect for school teachers has gone through the roof and I can't wait for them to get back," he said.
Daughter Princess and son Junior - whose mum is Peter's former partner, Katie Price - were on hand to rate their dad's teaching skills and, prompted by Ruth, even gave him a grade.
Watch the video above to see how they rated his lessons - and to find out what happened when he tried to cut his own fringe with a craft scissors!
He probably should have taken a few tips from our Jane.
