Corrie star Beverley Callard reveals Liz will exit the cobbles with a ‘bang’
Coronation Street queen, Beverley Callard joined us to confirm she’s saying farewell to the cobbles after 30 brilliant years. Chatting exclusively to our panellists, Bev shared the news and suggested that Corrie producers have said she will, ‘exit with a bang’.
So, does that mean her character Liz McDonald will be killed off from the cobbles in the summer?
Beverley said: “I did think because it’s [the show] 60 next year, I thought they’ll kill me. They’re not. They said they’re not. I don’t know what it is yet, truly I don’t, they said she will go with a bang. So I’m quite looking forward to that.”
The soap icon also revealed that her co-stars only found out the night before the announcement about her departure from the ITV show, and expressed ‘sadness’ to see her go.
She added: “I told some of them last night, like Simon [Gregson] who plays my son and Kate Ford who plays Tracy, we work so closely together. They knew. They’re really sad. But we’ll still see each other.”
So, what’s next for the soap star? Watch the chat to find out.
