The women who brought down Weinstein reveal crucial role played by Gwyneth Paltrow
Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey, the New York Times reporters who broke the Harvey Weinstein story and helped launch the #MeToo movement, have revealed that Gwyneth Paltrow was one of their key "secret sources".
Seen as Harvey Weinstein’s "biggest star," the journalists have not been able to reveal the Oscar-winning actress as a source until now - but disclose that she played a crucial role in getting others to come forward:
“She not only shared her own story but made calls to all of her friends in Hollywood and beyond to see if there were other women who might be able to speak with us for our investigation.”
The pair, who have written a book about the investigation titled She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement, go on to detail the lengths Weinstein went to in order try and stop them publishing their story, including hiring spies!
