Meet our judge Sarah Harding
Sarah Harding is best known as the gorgeous blonde from the girl group Girls Aloud. The band shot to fame after being put together on Popstars: The Rivals in 2009 and went on to achieve twenty consecutive top ten singles, four UK number ones, six platinum albums and won a BRIT Award for Best British Single for The Promise
In 2009 Girls Aloud decided to take a break from working as a group and pursue their other interests. Sarah got stuck into a number of TV, modelling and acting projects.
Originally from Ascot, Berkshire Sarah grew up in a musical household and has attributed her "musical genes" to her musician father who introduced her to the studio at a very young age. Music was always her passion, however during the band's time apart Sarah decided to pursue a number of of TV and acting projects, which have made her a household name.
As an actress she featured in the St Trinians film as one of the school band, and came back with a more significant role in St Trinians II, Legend of Fritton’s Gold two years later. She maintained her musical link, recording three solo tracks for the soundtrack. She also collaborated with London synthpop band Filthy Dukes on Real Wild Child, the soundtrack song for the film Wild Child. Sarah also featured in the TV movie Freefall, alongside Dominic Cooper and Bad Day, directed by Ian David Diaz. Her most recent acting venture saw her take a starring role alongside Danny Dyer and Denise Van Outen in Run For Your Wife, a film based on the popular stage show.
Sarah’s warmth and charisma have made her a popular guest on TV panel shows. She has featured on The Friday Night Project, Chris Moyle’s Quiz Night, the Rob Brydon Christmas Special, and more recently Through the Keyhole and Celebrity Juice.
Her beauty and popularity have led to a huge number of brand ambassador roles. She has been the face of Ultimo, Coca Cola, Veet, HTC phones, Virgin Atlantic and more recently Face B4 facewash. Deals within the group include Sunsilk, Samgsung, Nintendo DS, Kit Kat and Pandora Jewellery.
After three years of hiatus, Girls Aloud reunited in 2012 to celebrate their tenth anniversary as a band. The group released the single Something New in November, with proceeds being donated to Children in Need. Their second greatest hits anthology was released on 26 November 2012, followed by the single Beautiful Cause You Love Me. In 2013, the group embarked on Ten - The Hits Tour 2013.
Sarah has recently signed to acting giant William Morris in LA. She is dividing her time between London and LA juggling movie casting and working on new material for her solo album, due for release in early 2014. She is passionate about using her fame to help others.
