Miriam on politics and George Clooney

Is George Clooney on offer?

Miriam's answer when quizzed about who she would like to see play her husband in a film

Miriam Gonzalez Durantez, the wife of Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, joined Lorraine today to talk about life as a politician’s wife, dealing with criticism, her husband’s cooking and George Clooney.

Busy Miriam, who has three children and works as a lawyer, also spoke about her Inspiring Women campaign which launched in October 2013.

So far 11,000 women - some high profile and many not - have pledged to give their time to talk with teenage girls in schools about their job, careers and life experiences.

When questioned how she manages to juggle all of her committments, she said: “I do it with help at home and also help from my family, my mother, Nick’s mum. I have help at work, I have a fantastic team, they are really, really supportive there and then with lots of coffee. If coffee is bad for health, I’m done!”

Miriam was also asked who she would like to play her husband in a film of his life.

“Is George Clooney on offer?” she joked.
