All aboard Lorraine's Boob Bus this Breast Cancer Awareness Month
This October, Lorraine’s very own pink Boob Bus is hitting the road as we take our lifesaving Change and Check campaign all across the UK during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
With the support of Stagecoach, Lorraine’s Boob Bus will travel from London to Manchester, Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff delivering our Change and Check stickers and educating people about checking for the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
The campaign is the brainchild of producer Helen Addis, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2018. Since launch, the Change and Check message has been supported by celebrities including Naomi Campbell, Sheryl Crow and even Madonna and received special recognition from former prime minister Theresa May.
On launching the Boob Bus, Lorraine said: "Helen's a force of nature and the Boob Bus is an extension of her campaign. It's making women, and men, focus on their health. So check your boobs! Come along to the Boob Bus to find out more. What's normal for one person might not be normal for another. But check yourself and together we could save even more lives.”
On board the Boob Bus will be trained breast cancer nurses to help talk through how to monitor your own breasts for any changes or irregularities. Lorraine’s very own Dr Hilary and Helen Addis will be on the bus to spread the Change and Check message far and wide, as well as the charity Prevent Breast Cancer who will join us in Manchester along with Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor.
