I think first of all what happened in Paris was appalling, this is a vibrant, multicultural city, young people of all faiths, and older people as well, all there together, and cultures, and this terrible thing happened.
– Jeremy Corbyn on Paris terror attacks
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has condemned the deadly terror attacks in Paris at the weekend and called for round table negotiations in the fight against Islamic State.
In his first live daytime interview since taking the party's reins in September, Mr Corbyn said he was appalled at the IS atrocity, which claimed at least 129 lives and wounded hundreds more.
"I think first of all what happened in Paris was appalling, this is a vibrant, multicultural city, young people of all faiths, and older people as well, all there together, and cultures, and this terrible thing happened," Mr Corbyn told Lorraine.
Winning the recent Labour leadership election with an overwhelming 60 percent majority, it's certainly been a big year for Jeremy Corbyn.
Not one to shy away from controversy, he has divided opinion both in and out of the political spotlight. Since Labour's catastrophic defeat in May's General Election, the party's membership has almost doubled! This significant rise in Labour members is mostly attributed to Corbyn's surprise election as top dog , following a fierce leadership race that dominated the headlines.
It's not just his politics that has proved a talking point, as Jeremy Corbyn's style has come under some scrutiny. Many claim the party leader looks "abysmal and scruffy", whilst others admire the fact that he "is dressing genuinely" rather than playing up to expectations.
Here's five lesser-known Corbyn facts:
Jeremy's beard is the beard to beat in the Commons, as he has won 'Parliamentary Beard of the Year' five times
A vocal vegetarian, Jeremy is a big fan of hummus
When he's not in Westminster you might find him at his allotment, or in his kitchen making jam from the produce
Preferring two wheels to four, Jeremy doesn't own a car and gets about as much as he can by bike
Jeremy collects pictures of drain covers... which sounds like quite a draining hobby!
