A jetski crossed with a jetpack: The flyboard takes the world by storm

The Flyboard combines a jet ski and a jet pack

A new extreme sport is taking the world by storm.

The flyboard is a combination between a jet ski and a jet pack.

Frenchman Franky Zapata, a jet skier, invented the device in 2011.

The device can fly up to 10 metres and riders can dive, dolphin-like, under water.

The flyboard is attached to a jetski by a kevlar hose that pumps water to keep it aloft and riders use their feet to control the direction and their hands to keep it stable.

The flyboard sells for £7,400.
