X Factor star Rylan Clark is heading back to our screens with a presenting stint on ITV's Daybreak only days after being voted off the talent show.
The 24-year-old singer, whose quirky performances split public opinion, will fill in for Richard Arnold on the breakfast show next week.
Rylan said he was delighted to land the gig:
I can't believe it. I only left X Factor a week ago and now I'm joining Lorraine (Kelly) and Aled (Jones) on the Daybreak sofa. I'm a massive fan of the show and it's going to be so much fun sharing all the showbiz news and gossip with the nation each morning.
Arnold is enjoying a break following his own recent exit from Strictly Come Dancing.
Rylan said he'll try to emulate Arnold's presentation skills rather than his efforts on the dance floor.
I'm looking forward to keeping Richard's seat warm while he's swanning off on holiday, but I won't be asking for any dancing tips just yet.
Arnold wished his temporary successor "all the best" in his absence:
The wonderful thing about this hurly burly business we call show is that you know ultimately you will one day be replaced by someone younger, thinner and, in this case, much taller than you. I wish Rylan all the best in his new role at Daybreak.
