NASA scientists are so convinced that the world as we know it will not end on 21 December 2012 they have already released a video titled "Why The World Didn't End Yesterday".

Addressing fears that the end of the ancient Mayan calendar cycle signals the world's end, the video, posted on YouTube, says, "Look around you - the whole thing was a misconception from the beginning".

It begins, "December 22, 2012. If you are watching this video it means one thing - the world didn't end yesterday".

Though some claimed the video was accidentally released early, Tony Phillips, the NASA Science website's editor, told NBC News, "The teaser for the video explains everything: 'NASA is so confident that the world is not coming to an end on Dec. 21, that they have already released a video for the day after".
