A life-size Dreamhouse designed to show off Barbie's Malibu lifestyle is set to open in Berlin today.

Visitors are offered the chance to try on the plastic doll's clothes in her walk-in closet, tour her living room and 'bake' virtual cupcakes in her pink kitchen.

Up to 3000 visitors are expected each day, before the Dreamhouse moves on to other European cities later in the year.

However the attraction has not been met with widespread approval.

A Facebook group entitled, "Occupy Barbie Dreamhouse", has drawn more than 1,500 supporters with critics arguing that the Dreamhouse portrays a sexist image of women.
