Another Foreign Office minister has resigned from the Government.

No 10 says Mark Simmonds' decision was agreed at the reshuffle, but he stayed in post to chair UN Security Council on 6-7 August.

He is also standing down as an MP for Boston & Skegness at the 2015 election.

Mr Simmonds will be replaced at the Foreign Office by the Rochford MP James Duddridge.

While a Downing Street spokesperson told us it had all been agreed at the reshuffle - it means the Foreign Office has lost two ministers in the space of one week.

Baroness Warsi resigned last week over the Government's response to the crisis in Gaza.
