No one know what exactly cause alopecia, but 1.2 million men and women in the UK are effected by the disease, which makes their hair fall out.

It is caused when the immune system, which normally attacks the cause of an infection, instead attacks the hair follicles.

Doctors are stumped as to why this happens, but it is believe influenced including stress, genetics or other autoimmune conditions such as thyroid disease or diabetes can trigger alopecia.

Eight of the stars of Pretty Bald stopped by Good Morning Britain to explain why they put the calendar together.

I was just looking for something that would raise a bit of awareness because people don't know why we're ill or have got no hair and they stare and a lot of people ask us if we'e got cancer.

When I first lost my hair I didn't really find any support and then I found Alopecia UK. I was looking at it and thought if we could get some more awareness then maybe we could start changing perceptions that we need hair to go and out and do things.

The calendar went on sale in September, and has sold all over the world.

The group have far outdone their initial target of £2000, and have already raised £5000.
