Katie Price has hit back after a receiving a barrage of criticism over how her disabled son's schooling and transport is paid for.
The model and businesswoman revealed in the Celebrity Big Brother house that the local authority pays the bill, even though she has made several million pounds.
Price's son Harvey is blind and has a range of other disabilities including autism, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome.
During a discussion on the Channel 5 show, she said, 'He has a driver who takes him to school each day. He travels with a special nurse who looks after him and the driver is mindful of the situation - it's taxpayer-funded, which is good.'
She said the cost, if she were to meet it herself, would be 'up to a grand a day'.
It put her on a collision course with housemate Katie Hopkins, who suggested she foot the bill herself.
Many twitter users have waded in, with some slamming her for using the local authority service, while others point out that as a taxpayer herself she is entitled to Government help.
Now Katie Price's representatives have posted a statement online which explained that the £1,000 sum she spoke about was not the cost to the local authority but her estimate of fees she would pay if she used a private driver and a private nurse.
