An abandoned dog was left crying outside a train station after his owner tied him to a set of railings and walked away.
Photos of the unwanted pet, described as a black Staffie-type dog, were posted online after he was spotted crying his eyes out and whining while he loyally waited for his owner to return on Wednesday.
Nicknamed Gazza, because he's not too man enough to cry, the sad pooch was left tied to the railings outside Eastbourne Railway Station with nothing but a takeaway tray of water after the man who deserted him disappeared in a taxi.
About an hour after being left behind Gazza was heard crying and a member of the public reported him to station staff. He is now being temporarily housed in council-run kennels while wardens try to trace his owner.
Gazza's story comes just one month another dog, named Kai, was abandoned at a train station with nothing but a suitcase of belongings. Council workers hope that if Gazza's owner can not be traced then they will be lucky enough to find him a suitable new home like Ayr council did for Kai.
