Today has been one of contrasts when it comes to the weather
It has been an interesting day of weather, we have seen wind gusts in excess of 70mph across parts of the UK today, snow over the Pennines and the Scottish Highlands, and in stark contrast, sunny skies in the south.
This has led to a big difference in temperatures, as low as 4C in Newcastle and a high of 17C in London
Parts of the UK will get a taste of summer this week as the temperatures are set to climb.
Much of England and Wales will enjoy some fine and increasingly warm weather, especially midweek.
Temperatures are forecast to reach highs of 24, possibly 25 Celsius in the Southeast by Wednesday.
Sadly there is an exception, the Northwest will start the week unsettled and windy, with some heavy rain at times particularly W/NW Scotland.
