So-called Islamic State militants have reportedly released a video to promote their own ‘health service’ that bears a striking resemblance to the British National Health Service.

Known as the Islamic State Health Service – ISHS – a rather obvious rip-off of the UK health system’s acronym.

The video that appeared across social media last night shows a medic, wearing scrubs and carrying a stethoscope, in a very similar style to legitimate NHS branding found across Britain.

Labelled as the ‘Islamic State Dewan of Health’, the video appears to be shot around the IS-held city of Raqqa in Syria.

The Daily Mail reports that Glasgow woman who fled to Syria, Aqsa Mahmood, may be working for ISHS.

The video appears to be part of a wider social media campaign by IS to recruit doctors and other healthcare professionals to its cause – which could be seen as a consequence of recent military successes by US-led coalition airstrikes and Iraqi army units.
