Update: Noakes has now been found and is now at home after being taken to hospital for treatment for dehydration, his wife has told ITV News.
Former Blue Peter presenter John Noakes has gone missing in Majorca.
The 81-year-old, who has Alzheimer's disease, disappeared from his home in Andratx on the hottest day of the year so far.
Local police have issued an appeal on behalf of his wife Vicky, using these recent pictures of the Halifax native:
We’re asking for the public’s help in finding a missing man.
His wife told the Mirror: "I’m sure he’ll turn up. It’s just that he’s gone missing on the hottest day of the year so far."
Police said they are concerned for Mr Noakes as he left home with no possessions and temperatures are around 95 degrees on the Spanish island.
His wife reported him missing this morning. She is worried because of his state of health and the heat, which is around 35C (95F) today.
Mr Noakes, an ex-RAF fitter, is Blue Peter's longest running presenter, racking up 12 years and six months on the children's TV show.
His attempts to control the show's pet do Shep led to his memorable catchphrase "Get down Shep."
