Scottish exams body admits maths exam was 'hard'

Scotland's examinations body has reassured pupils that "no learner will be disadvantaged" after a backlash against this year's Higher maths exam.

Thousands of students complained that the exam itself was "impossible" and did not reflect what they had been asked to study in preparation for the tests.

STV News reports that many were left in tears after being faced with a series of tricky questions last month, one of which included a frog and a toad.
