Cilla mourners urged to make donations to children's hospital

Fans wishing to pay tribute to Cilla Black have been asked to donate money to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital in her memory.

The 72-year-old entertainer will be laid to rest in her home city of Liverpool on Thursday following a funeral mass at St Mary's Church, Woolton.

Her family have asked that mourners line the two-mile route to the church using the whole length of Woolton Road ahead of the 1pm service.

She will then be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Allerton Cemetery alongside her parents.

Cilla died earlier this month after falling and accidentally hitting her head at her home in Spain.
