A man has been shot by police following a seven-hour stand off in which he refused to be evicted from his south London flat.
Officers were called just before 10am this morning to reports the man was still at the address in Tilson Gardens, Brixton and apparently armed.
Metropolitan Police confirmed the man was shot outside the premises shortly before 4.45pm. He has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.
No other people were thought to have been inside the property at the time.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "As in any shooting, officers from the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards (DPS) have been informed and this incident has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) who has started an independent investigation."
Cordons remain outside the property and a gun found at the scene is being examined for any forensic evidence, according to police.
