A tech-savvy "cool" vicar gave a bride and her groom a pleasant surprise when he interrupted their wedding ceremony to take a photo with his selfie stick.

Emma Scarborough, 26, had just met her husband-to-be Jamie, 28, at the head of the church when the vicar said he had something to do before he married them.

In what is thought to be an ecclesiastical first, vicar Paul Frost whipped out his stick and snapped a selfie with the grinning wedding party at St John's Anglican church in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Mother-of-two and home carer Emma said:

I was walking down the aisle and I got to the end and the vicar started speaking to us.

He said 'we are gathered here today to join these two in holy matrimony but first - let me take a selfie'.

The best man had mentioned the idea to him before I got there. I had no idea he was going to do it.

It was so good, really amazing.

He was such a cool vicar and it made it such a lovely atmosphere.
