Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard says Jose Mourinho is the right man to turn the club's fortunes around.

Chelsea find themselves in 15th place in the Premier League after a poor opening ten games to the season.

Lampard told ITV London's Will Mott: "They've had a difficult start - we don't expect that from Chelsea as they've set such high standards over the last ten or 15 years, but I think they'll come back. Maybe players are out of form a little bit at the same time, but you're talking top quality players, top manager and a top club.

"For me it's a matter of time before they turn it around. Whether they can win the league again, I know it will be very difficult..

Asked if he thought Mourinho was the man for Chelsea, Lampard said: "For sure, his record speaks for itself; he's the most successful manager in Chelsea's history. There will be a combination of things, I'm sure he's be pulling his hair out and wanting to turn the corner.
