Prince George is expected to be "extremely bouncy" this Christmas as he has "suddenly worked out what Christmas is all about", his father has revealed.

According to Prince William the Royal toddler, who is now two, has finally realised the significance of Christmas and has reached the age where he can appreciate it.

Speaking during an interview with the Big Issue he said:

I think George will be extremely bouncy this year because he's suddenly worked out what Christmas is all about. So that will be two children, one who suddenly appreciates Christmas, which could be quite challenging. But I'm looking forward to it.

It's a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own.

Prince William, who this year became a father for the second time, also told the magazine that his family would spend this Christmas Day going to church in the morning before watching Prince George "try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them".

The prince's interview, which was conducted by aspiring journalist Sophia Kichou who he met four years ago when she was homeless, will feature in the Big Issue's Monday December 7 issue.
