Fans of Top Gear can get their hands on the 'Reasonably Priced Car' that has been thrashed around the show's test track by celebrities including Will Smith, Olly Murs and Ed Sheeran.

The red Vauxhall Astra, which was the show's fourth reasonably priced car from 2014, is being sold on eBay to raise money for the charity BEN.

The charity supports workers and ex-workers involved in the automotive industry in a variety of ways, including helping with the cost of specialist disabled equipment and providing emotional support through illness.

Bids have currently reached over £8,000 for the 2013 five-door hatchback with the auction due to finish on December 27.

The 1.6-litre Tech Line model has just 2,908 miles on the clock and features 17-inch alloy wheels, 5-point safety belt harnesses, racing seats and a digital radio system.

The successful bidder would need to have the vehicle's airbags reinstated - as they have been replaced by a roll cage and two racing seats - to make the car legal for use on the road, Vauxhall said.

We are reliant on the generosity of our supporters to enable us to continue our work helping people who work within the UK automotive industry, so we are very grateful to Vauxhall Motors for this kind donation of a piece of history for a great cause

– David Main, chief executive of the BEN charity
