Three killed after car ploughs into pedestrians on Boxing Day

Three people have died and a fourth is fighting for his life after a car ploughed into a group of pedestrians on Boxing Day.

The four were walking along Sutton Road in Askern, Doncaster when the tragedy happened.

Two women, aged 53 and 54, and a 59-year-old man died from their injuries.

A 56-year-old man is being treated for life-threatening injuries in hospital.

The 24-year-old driver of the blue Volva S60 which hit them has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
